Rovers Club emerged champions in the FAO Second Division Football League, defeating Club-n-Club in the final by 2-0 goals at Barabati Stadium here today. Rovers Club also qulified to participate in the FAO First Division League next year. Earlier in the semifinals, Rovers Club beat Chauliaganj Club 3-1, while Club-n-Club defeated Royal Club 2-0.
Altogether seven teams participated in this year’s Second Division League, which was conducted by Football Association of Odisha (FAO). Other three teams in the fray were LIC Sports Club, Odisha Fisheries Recreation Club and Eleven Gun Club. Among them, Odisha Fisheries Recreation Club did not play a single match.
RESULTS:
Dec 8 (Match No 1): Chauliaganj Club (Akash Das 59th) beat LIC Sports club 1-0.
Dec 8 (Match No 2): Royal Club got walk-over against Vs Odisha Fisheries Recreation Club
Dec 9 (Match No 3): Rovers Club (Sunil Toppo 20th, Sunil Bargh 26th, Dasarathi Kanhar 39th, 56th; Bijay Mukhi 62nd) beat Eleven Gun Club (Adarsa Dasone 34th, Sk Sahib Sehezada 53rd) 5-2 goals.
Dec 10 (Match No 4): LIC Sports Club drew with Royal Club 1-1.
Dec 10 (Match No 5): Chauliaganj Club got walk-over against Odisha Fisheries Recreation Club
Dec 11 (Match No 6): Club-n-Club (Anil Samal 2nd, Akash Das 3rd) beat Rovers Club (Dasarathi Kanhar 62nd) 2-1.
Dec 12 (Match No 7): LIC Sports Club got walk-over against Odisha Fisheries Recreation Club.
Dec 12 (Match No 8): Chauliaganj Club beat Royal Club 1-0.
Dec 13 (Match No 9): Club-n-Club got walk-over against Eleven Gun Club.
Dec 15 (Match No 10, SF): Rovers Club (Prafula Minza 22nd, 41st, 43rd) beat Chauliaganj Club (Babul Das one 56th) 3-1.
Dec 15 (Match No 11, SF): Club-n-Club (Bikash Kumar Sahu 3rd, Iswar Chandra Das 54th) beat Royal Club 2-0.
Dec 18 (Match No 12, Final): Rovers Club (Prafula Minz 36th, Dasarathi Kanhar 72nd) beat Club-n-Club 2-0.
